No DUI arrests in Kirkland on New Years Eve | Kirkland Police Blotter

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland.

Between Dec. 29 and Jan. 4 there were 726 total incidents, including 81 traffic incidents, 17 traffic accidents, no DUIs, 23 general traffic incidents, five incidents involving illegal drugs, 39 alarm calls, 13 abandoned vehicles, four burglaries, nine incidents of fraud, 12 civil incidents, eight cases of harassment, 19 thefts, 22 vehicle prowls, six vehicle thefts, eight warrants served, 13 noise complaints, two animal calls, seven incidents of domestic violence, four fireworks complaints, 10 disturbances, no sex offenses, five hit and runs and 21 incidents involving at least one arrest.

Dec. 30

Drugs: 10:35 p.m., 12400 block of NE 144th St.; A 28-year-old man was booked for his Department of Corrections escape warrant. Substance violation charges were forwarded due to officers finding approximately 2.5 grams of meth in his pocket.

Dec. 31

Marijuana: 8:40 p.m., 13100 block of NE 132nd St.; Police contacted two juvenile males at the 132nd Square Park. A baggie of marijuana was found on the ground nearby where the two males were standing, and one of the males had a pipe with burnt marijuana residue inside the pipe. The two males were arrested and released into the custody of Friends of Youth.

Jan. 1

Minor, liquor violation: 4 a.m., 1100 block of Alexander Ave.; Officers detained a 20-year-old Newcastle man after the man was discovered trespassing behind a 63-year-old man’s home. The suspect was highly intoxicated and was arrested for minor in possession.

Jan. 2

Warrants: 9:26 p.m., 11800 block of NE 118th St.; A 39-year-old Everett man was contacted outside of his work and arrested on his nationwide extraditable felony warrant for dangerous drugs out of Iowa. The man was booked into King County Jail as a fugitive from justice.

Assault: 10:55 p.m., 12100 block of NE 137th Place; A 50-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct domestic violence and 4th-degree domestic violence assault after an incident involving another man. An investigation determined the 50-year-old man was the primary aggressor and instigator by use of racial slurs.

Jan. 3

Assault: 5:59 a.m., 14100 block of 74th Place NE; A 33-year-old man confronted his upstairs neighbor, a 43-year-old man, about the amount of noise he was making in the early hours of the morning. The upstairs neighbor shoved the 33-year-old man, and was arrested for 4th-degree assault.

Domestic: 11:30 a.m., location not disclosed; A juvenile female broke the locked door to her mother’s bedroom and took some wine, her previously confiscated laptop and her brother’s prescription medication. The suspect was taken to King County Youth Corrections for 3rd-degree malicious mischief and 3rd-degree domestic violence theft.

Warrants: 11:12 p.m., 13000 block of 110th Ave. NE; Police stopped a Honda Accord driven by a 36-year-old Bothell woman and arrested the woman on her outstanding warrant for failure to appear at trial. The original charge was criminal solicitation.

Jan. 4

Traffic: 12:29 a.m., 11900 block of NE 124th St.; A 35-year-old Lynnwood man was stopped on traffic and arrested for driving with a suspended license. The man was booked and released at Kirkland Jail.

Theft: 4:30 p.m., 8600 block of 120th Ave. NE; A 39-year-old Redmond woman attempted to shoplift vitamins, food and clothing from Costco, worth $81, and was arrested for 3rd-degree theft.
