Nighttime I-405 ramp and lane closures in Kirkland this weekend

Drivers traveling on southbound Interstate 405 in Kirkland on Saturday night and early Sunday morning should use alternate routes, as contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will reduce the roadway to one lane and close nearby ramps.

The following is a release from the Washington State Department of Transportation:

Drivers traveling on southbound Interstate 405 in Kirkland on Saturday night and early Sunday morning should use alternate routes, as contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will reduce the roadway to one lane and close nearby ramps.

In addition, crews will close the carpool lane of southbound I-405 between Northeast 85th Street and Northeast 70th Street from 11 p.m. Friday, June 20 to 6 a.m. Saturday, June 21 to complete paving work.

Saturday, June 21 to the morning of Sunday, June 22

Lane closures:

  • Up to three lanes of southbound I-405 between Northeast 85th Street and Northeast 70th Street will close starting at 7 p.m. Two lanes will close at 10 p.m. and three lanes will close at 11:30 p.m. One lane will open by 7 a.m., a second lane by 8:30 a.m. and all lanes by 9 a.m.

Ramp closures:

  • The Northeast 85th Street on-ramp to southbound I-405 will close from 3 to 7 a.m. Sunday.
  • The southbound I-405 off-ramp to Northeast 70th Street will close from 3 to 8 a.m. Sunday.
