NAMI Walks event to cause delays in and around Marina Park

Commuters should expect traffic delays due to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Walks Washington event to be held at Marina Park on June 3.

A route map is posted online at www.kirklandwa.gov/specialevents.

Traffic impacts will include the following:

  • Kirkland Avenue west of Lake Street will be closed to traffic from 5-11 a.m.
  • Southbound lane of Lake Street South between Kirkland Avenue and 2nd Avenue South will be closed to traffic from about 9-11 a.m.
  • Heavy pedestrian traffic along Lake Street South and Lake Washington Boulevard from 9-11 a.m.

Event organizers expect 1,000 attendees will participate in the event, which raises money for mental health support and awareness. Event goers are encouraged to carpool and plan for their parking in advance.
