Between July 3-11, the Kirkland Police Department reported 670 traffic violations (seven DUIs), 13 animal calls, 43 alarm calls, 28 noise complaints, 66 fireworks calls, three juvenile crimes, 22 calls of disturbance, 17 thefts, 32 car prowls, two car thefts, 33 traffic accidents, 13 calls of civil disturbance, seven reported burglaries, 24 domestic violence calls, 15 calls for harassment, seven reports of illegal drugs, two alleged assaults, 11 acts of fraud, 17 malicious mischief reports, seven calls of vice, one robbery and one suicide. At least 64 people were arrested.

July 10

Prostitution: 9:53 p.m., 12000 block of 120th Place NE. A 54-year-old man was arrested for patronizing a prostitute after he was seen entering then leaving the room of a known prostitute 30 minutes later at Motel 6. The man provided a written statement detailing his involvement with the 32-year-old woman and is expected to be charged.

Prostitution: 10:30 p.m., 12700 block of NE 124th St. A 30-year-old man was arrested for patronizing a prostitute and was observed to have conducted a short stay at Motel 6. He is suspected of housing two prostitutes at the motel room. Post Miranda, the man showed police the Backpage ad for the prostitute and then told police how much he paid for his service.

July 9

Assault: 1:41 p.m., 6600 block of Lake Washington Blvd. NE. A 53-year-old man was arrested for fourth-degree assault, two counts of harassment with sexual motivation, obstruction, resisting arrest and having an open container of alcohol in the park. Police seized 4.75 grams of marijuana and a used Taser cartridge was taken as evidence. The man also had a full backpack with sunglasses, keys, reading glasses, toiletries, shoes, five pairs of socks, six shirts, a towel and gloves. A 16-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl and a man were reported as the victims in this case.

July 7

Domestic violence: 9:30 p.m., 9800 block of NE 125th Lane. A 16-year-old boy was taken into custody after his mother said he kicked her in the stomach and punched his father in the face. The boy admitted to assaulting his parents and said he did not want them to check his pockets for drugs.

Domestic violence: 10:13 p.m., 14400 block of 124th Ave. NE. A 25-year-old woman was taken into custody for assault after she slapped a 25-year-old man in the face, causing injury.

Domestic violence: 3 a.m., 11700 block of 120th Ave. NE. A 47-year-old man was arrested after he pushed a 31-year-old woman down to the ground multiple times, causing pain. The two had gotten in an argument at their tent. The woman called 911 from a gas station pay phone.

July 6

Theft: 12:51 p.m., 12200 block of 120th Ave. NE. A 43-year-old man was arrested after loss prevention caught him stealing $287 worth of alcohol from a store.

July 5

Domestic violence: 12:05 a.m., 8100 block of NE 126th St. A 44-year-old man was arrested after he got into a physical altercation with his 47-year-old sister over a rent payment.

Disturbance: 1:19 a.m., 10000 block of NE 120th Lane. A 43-year-old man was arrested for punching car windows and breaking the windshield. The people driving had honked at a woman who was standing in the middle of the road before the suspect punched the car. The victims chased after them but a second unknown man punched the male victim in the face twice and threw his iPhone on the ground. The unknown man, known as “Chris,” is described as white with dark hair and a stocky build, and is still on the loose.

Minor in possession: 2:39 a.m., 8200 block of NE 138th St. A 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy were arrested after police discovered the two at Thoreau Elementary school, seemingly drunk. Preliminary breath tests revealed one boy had a 0.151 percent reading and another had a 0.156 percent reading.

July 4

Domestic violence: 3:50 a.m., 12200 block of NE 75th St. A 34-year-old man was taken into custody for damaging a 33-year-old woman’s crystal wine glasses and interfering with the calls to police on domestic violence.

Domestic violence: 12:43 a.m., 11200 block of NE 128th St. A 28-year-old man was taken into custody after allegedly assaulting his 31-year-old sister.

Domestic violence: 11:30 p.m., 100 block of Kirkland Ave. A 44-year-old man was arrested for pushing a 44-year-old woman to the ground. Both were “highly” intoxicated. The man was also arrested on an outstanding Anacortes warrant for the same incident.
