In preparation for the re-landscaping of the Market Street Corridor, Kirkland maintenance crews will start to remove non-native vegetation, weeds, litter, and abandoned irrigation risers.

This prep work will begin in the week of May 11 and will make way for an extensive re-planting project to start in the fall.

The project scope includes Market Street from Central Way to Forbes Creek Drive. The new plantings in the fall will include native northwest species that are low-growing and easily adapt to local climate conditions.

The preparation work is expected to be complete in three weeks. There will be occasional lane closures as needed.  For project updates, subscribe to the City’s News Room listserv atwww.kirklandwa.gov/ebulletins.
