Marina Park boat launch closed through mid-April

The City of Kirkland has commenced work to replace the Marina Park boat launch, and the facility will be out of service until mid-April.

Alternative launches can be found on the Department of Fish and Wildlife website, wdfw.wa.gov. The nearest available launch is at the Kenmore Marina, located at 6321 NE 175th in Kenmore. A Discover Pass is required to park at the facility.

Marina Park’s boat launch replacement includes a similar but updated version of the existing 12-foot-wide launch.

The project also includes improved customer service. Kirkland residents will now have the opportunity to launch their boat on a pay-as-you-go system during boating season (April 1 through Oct. 31) by inserting a credit card into the new pay station at the launch. Residents can still purchase a seasonal key card through the Kirkland Parks and Community Services department by calling customer service at 425 587-3336 or visiting their new offices now located on the lower-level of Kirkland City Hall.

The entire project is expected to be complete in mid-April, with the in-water work complete by March 15. The contracted crews will work between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturdays.
