The Kirkland Police Department responded to an armed robbery call from the Totem Lake Fred Meyer Jewelers on Feb. 8.
“The suspect spoke with a salesperson and began looking at various rings with the assistance of the employee,” said Kirkland Police Department spokesperson Rob Saloum. “While looking at a ring and having it in his possession, the suspect made a gesture to the salesperson that he had a firearm in his waistband and then fled the store on foot.”
The call was received by police at 6:43 p.m. and the suspect was already gone by the time they arrived. The Kirkland Police Station is located just behind the Fred Meyer store.
The suspect is described as a black male adult, medium build, in his late 20s to early 30s, wearing a black or brown hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans, according to police.
