Man records couple having sex in Juanita Beach bathroom | Kirkland Police Blotter

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland.

Between March 16-22, there were 829 total incidents, including 142 traffic incidents, 39 traffic accidents, five DUIs, 41 general traffic incidents, two incidents involving illegal drugs, 32 alarm calls, 14 abandoned vehicles, five burglaries, 13 incidents of fraud, 13 civil incidents, four cases of harassment, 21 thefts, 17 vehicle prowls, four vehicle thefts, seven warrants served, five noise complaints, three animal calls, eight incidents of domestic violence, no fireworks complaints, 13 disturbances, one rape offense, four hit and runs and 27 incidents involving at least one arrest.

March 16

Warrant: 12:20 p.m., 13500 block of 100th Ave. NE. A 24-year-old Arlington man was arrested for his outstanding felony warrant.

Theft: 1 p.m., NE 124th St. and 116th Ave. NE. A 37-year-old Seattle man was arrested on a Bellevue warrant for theft after he was observed arguing with a female on the side of the road. The man was also found to be in possession of stolen merchandise, including one Nike shoe with the security tag still on it, Levi’s 501 jeans and a black and camo adjustable Carhart hat.

March 18

Warrant: 3:53 a.m., 14500 block of 127th Ave. NE. A 36-year-old Kirkland man was contacted after a neighbor reported suspicious activity involving him and his girlfriend. The man was arrested on a felony warrant from the King County Sheriff.

Disorderly conduct: 8:11 p.m., Lake St. S. and 2nd Ave. S. A 41-year-old Seattle man was intoxicated and attempted to fight a Kirkland man. The drunk man threw several punches at the Kirkland man and was arrested by police.

Trespass: 10:48 p.m., 10 block of Lake St. A 40 -year-old Seattle man was arrested for criminal trespass in the second degree after being found at the Flat Stick Pub, which has a current trespass letter for the man. The man refused to cooperate and was taken into custody.

March 19

Theft: 2:50 p.m., 12200 block of 120th Ave. NE. A 25-year-old Seattle man attempted to steal the purse of a 71-year-old Redmond woman from her shopping cart while at Fred Meyer. The man was subsequently chased down and arrested by a Kirkland police officer. The man was booked on third-degree theft charges and obstruction of justice.

March 20

Sexual assault: 11:43 a.m., 4800 Lake Washington Blvd. A woman reported to police that her friend was threatening to commit suicide during a conversation on social media and claimed that she was “date raped” in Everett the night before. The victim’s sister subsequently took her to EvergreenHealth for an examination where police were called to assist.

Warrant: 9:55 p.m., 11500 block of 124th Ave. NE. A 22-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for an outstanding driving-with-a-suspended-license warrant. The man was contacted by police outside a hookah lounge. it was also discovered later that the man had a second warrant for non-compliance.

Order violation: 11:54 p.m., 12000 block of 120th Pl. NE. A 24-year-old Monroe man was arrested after he violated a domestic violence no contact order by willingly contacting the person at Motel 6 in Kirkland.

Order violation: 6 p.m., 13300 100th Ave. NE. A 38-year-old Leavenworth man was charged with violating an anti-harassment order with his ex-wife.

March 21

Domestic violence: 1:26 a.m., Kirkland. A 16-year-old boy was arrested for fourth-degree assault after pushing and shoving his father during an altercation.

Harassment: 9:30 a.m., 13000 block of 87th Pl. NE. A 53-year-old Kirkland man was arrested and booked for harassment and domestic violence after telling his mother “I am going to take you out in the woods and hang you.” Police reported a history of domestic violence between the son and mother.

Sex offense: 7:43 p.m., 9700 NE Juanita Drive. A Kirkland man reported seeing and recording audio of a drunk man and woman both in their 30s having sex in the bathroom at Juanita Beach Park. The man then followed the couple into Juanita Village while on the phone with dispatch but subsequently lost the couple after passing by the Starbucks.
