Man arrested for shoplifting $7.19 worth of Rainier cherries from QFC | Police blotter for July 20-26

Wednesday, July 26

Warrant arrest: At 4:41 p.m., a 39-year-old man was driving in his vehicle in the 11600 block of 124th Ave. N.E. when police discovered he had a misdemeanor warrant out of Issaquah for disorderly conduct. In addition, he was driving with a suspended license and did not have insurance. He was booked into Issaquah Jail.

Possession: A 24-year-old man was contacted at the Kingsgate Safeway at 2:03 a.m. and was discovered to have a misdemeanor warrant out for theft. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Kirkland Jail. Upon searching his backpack, police discovered 0.08 grams of heroin and a drug kit.

Tuesday, July 25

Thanks for the tip: At 5:03 p.m., it was reported that a 24-year-old man was seen stealing tips from the tip jar at Gourmet Latte in Kingsgate. The suspect was then seen walking toward the library, where police searched and located him. The suspect was cited and release.

Domestic violence: At 12:29 p.m., a 70-year-old man was having an argument with a woman in his vehicle when he hit the gas and went through the gate at the Totem Lake West Self Storage in the 11300 block of N.E. 124th St. The suspect backed the car up and the woman got out of the vehicle. The woman went to a U-Haul truck they had rented and the suspect followed. He reached into the open window and grabbed the woman by her shirts, ripping them and leaving heavy scratches on her chest. The suspect was taken into custody for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

Monday, July 24

Order violation: At 6:26 p.m., a 25-year-old man was spotted in the 10900 block of Forbes Creek Dr., within 500 feet of a 23-year-old woman who has a domestic violence no-contact order against him out of Gig Harbor. The suspect was booked into Kirkland Jail.

Sunday, July 23

Cherries on a Sunday: At 3:49 a.m., a 32-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting after taking $7.19 worth of Rainier cherries from the Park Place QFC. The suspect was intoxicated and aggressive toward officers. He squared off in a fighting stance and had to be taken to the ground.

Malicious mischief: At 1:22 a.m., a 23-year-old man was arrested for malicious mischief after forcefully pulling apart the locked doors at the Safeway in the 14400 block of 124th Ave. N.E. and damaging them.

Saturday, July 22

DUI: At 3:46 a.m., a 25-year-old male was stopped in the 10800 block of 124th Ave. N.E. for multiple lane violations for almost colliding with an officer’s patrol vehicle. The suspect performed poorly on a standardized field sobriety test and provided a preliminary breathe test sample of 0.179 and blood alcohol concentration samples of 0.164 and 0.161. He was booked and released from the Kirkland jail.

Friday, July 21

Assault: At 10:10 p.m., it was reported that a 53-year-old assaulted another man while at Fairfax Hospital in the 10200 block of N.E. 132nd St. Charges will be filed through an investigation for fourth-degree assault.

Shoplifting: A 35-year-old woman was arrested at the Safeway in the 10000 block of N.E. 137th St. after she was stopped by loss prevention for shoplifting $342 of merchandise. The woman also had a felony warrant out of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office and was booked into King County Jail.

Trespass: A 32-year-old man was arrested for trespassing at 12:55 a.m. from the Juanita Pub in the 9700 block of N.E. 120th Pl. There is a three-year letter on file for the suspect and this was the second time in about a month that he has been arrested for trespassing from the pub.

Thursday, July 20

Warrant arrest: A 28-year-old man was arrested at 10:17 p.m. in the 13000 block of N.E. 70th Pl. on a warrant and was charged with possession.
