Man arrested after he bites girlfriend’s neck, throws her through door | Kirkland Police Blotter

Between June 24-30, the Kirkland Police Department reported 463 traffic violations (three DUIs), 30 alarm calls, 21 car accidents, 30 noise complaints, 30 malicious mischief calls

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter Police Blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 1,000 per week.

Between June 24-30, the Kirkland Police Department reported 463 traffic violations (three DUIs), 30 alarm calls, 21 car accidents, 30 noise complaints, 30 malicious mischief calls, 18 thefts, eight car prowls, seven domestic violence calls, eight calls for harassment, 10 acts of fraud, 19 calls of a disturbance, eight calls for illegal substances and 15 calls of civil disturbance. At least 45 people were arrested.

June 30

Minor, liquor violation: 10 p.m., 8200 block of 115th Place. Police received a call about an underage party. Upon arrival, police contacted seven youth, four were underage and taken into custody.

Theft: 12:59 p.m., 127 Lake Street. A 21-year-old female was arrested for attempting to steal a $78 shirt from Chez Chic.

June 29

Burglary: 1:30 a.m., 12033 N.E. 80th Street. Police responded to a silent alarm call at Lake Washington High School. When officers arrived they found an open door and went in to search the premises. While inside the officers observed two males run past the windows on the outside of the school. Both were stopped and the two 18-year-old Kirkland residents said they entered the building through a roof access point to explore the new building.

Malicious mischief: 9:15 p.m., 10900 block of N.E. 60th Street. A 17-year-old Kirkland resident was arrested after a witness observed him “tag” a fence line with graffiti.

June 28

Order violation: 7:45 p.m., 13400 block of N.E. 133rd Street. A 26-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for violating a protection order served for his sister. The man showed up at his mother’s apartment, which is located next door to his sister’s apartment, and got into an altercation with his mother’s boyfriend. Upon contact police found out the man talked to his sister in the parking lot.

June 27

Domestic: 4:20 p.m., 7500 118th Ave. N.E. After an argument about cooking, a 22-year-old Kirkland man shoved his brother, causing him to fall over a TV tray and land on the ground. The suspect then punched his bedroom door, nearly breaking it in half. Both brothers live with their parents who were present at the time.

June 26

Domestic: 12:34 a.m., 9800 block of N.E. 130th Place. A 31-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for assault after he bit his girlfriend on the back of the neck and threw her through a screen door.

June 25

Order violation: 1:58 a.m., Main Street and Park Lane. An officer observed a 27-year-old man having a “tantrum” in front of his girlfriend. Upon contact the man “went off” on the officer. The man had a no contact order for the girlfriend and was arrested.

June 24

Theft: 2:15 p.m., 8629 120th Ave. N.E. A 43-year-old Kirkland woman was detained by Costco loss prevention after attempting to steal a $200 camera. The woman was uncooperative and was arrested for the attempted theft.
