Between Dec. 19-25, there were 248 traffic incidents, 19 traffic accidents, five DUIs, 31 general traffic incidents, 27 alarm calls, seven abandoned vehicles, one burglary, five incidents of fraud, 21 civil incidents, five cases of harassment, 14 thefts, 17 vehicle prowls, three vehicle thefts, 21 warrants served, 18 noise complaints, two animal calls, 16 incidents of domestic violence, six incidents of malicious mischief, 11 disturbances, three incidents of trespassing, nine hit and run and 38 incidents involving at least one arrest.

Dec. 25

Theft: 11:13 a.m., 12000 block of NE 128th St. A 36-year-old man took a taxi cab and then refused to pay for the $77 fare. He was later located by police. He told them he had gone to see his father, who was dying and had been transferred to EvergreenHealth for treatment, but forgot his wallet. An investigation showed the man’s father had died years ago and that he had used this story before to steal medications from different hospitals. He was booked into jail for third degree theft.

Dec. 22

Theft: 8:12 p.m., 12200 block of NE Totem Lake Way. A 58-year-old homeless man refused to leave the Totem Lake Motel when he failed to pay roughly $80 for his room. He was issued a trespass warning, but still refused. He had to be physically removed from the motel and was arrested.

Dec. 21

Assault: 12:13 a.m., 100 block of Kirkland Ave. A 23-year-old man was arrested for assault after he punched a DJ in the head at Tiki Joes.

Dec. 20

Order violation: 12 p.m., 14300 block of 126th Ave NE. A 36-year-old man went to his 36-year-old wife’s apartment in spite of a protection order against him. During a verbal argument, he called 911 and then hung up the phone. As police arrived, he jumped out of the third floor bedroom window and fled on foot. After the ensuing chase, the man was cornered and a stand-off occurred until he was tased. It was later discovered he had a no-bail felony warrant for escaping for murder charges. He was treated at EvergreenHealth and booked into jail.

Trespass: 8:30 p.m., 8200 block of NE 142nd St. A 48-year-old man was arrested after he entered his home after he had been told prior not to do so by Kirkland Code Enforcement and detectives following his arrest.

Assault: 8 a.m., 12800 block of NE 104th St. A 29-year-old man was arrested for domestic violence after he punched his 37-year-old girlfriend in the face during an argument.

Warrant: 2:29 a.m., 1150 block of 124th Ave NE. A 37-year-old man got into a verbal argument with his friends when police were called and he fled on foot due to a $16,000 warrant stemming from domestic violence charges. A K9 unit was unable to track him but he was later found walking down the sidewalk and arrested.

Assault: 2 a.m., 500 block of 5th St. A 28-year-old man was arrested for assault, malicious mischief, and interfering with reporting of domestic violence after he got into a scuffle with his 24-year-old girlfriend.

Order violation: 12:35 a.m., 13100 block of NE 132nd St. A 19-year-old man was arrested after he was found by police inside of a vehicle with his 20-year-old girlfriend, who was the protected person on a served no-contact order against the man. He was arrested and booked into jail.

Dec. 19

Warrant: 8:50 a.m., 13000 block of 102nd Ln NE. A 22-year-old woman was arrested on a warrant out of Kenmore for driving with a suspended license after her roommate locked her out of their condo. The roommate did not want to speak to police and refused to answer the door.
