Log cabin on Market Street to be relocated in Kirkland, street closures April 28

There are only a few log cabins in Kirkland and the one located on Market Street will be lifted off its foundation and set down on a residential property located in the Highlands neighborhood on April 28.

There are only a few log cabins in Kirkland and the one located on Market Street will be lifted off its foundation and set down on a residential property located in the Highlands neighborhood on April 28.

The city of Kirkland has issued permits to allow for the move to begin around midnight on Saturday, April 27 with the house being moved along city streets between then and 5 a.m. on Sunday, April 28.

The approved route includes the temporarily closure of the intersection of 112th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 100th Street while the cabin is re-staged. The move will continue at approximately 9 a.m. with the house being placed on property located at the 10,000 block of 111th Avenue Northeast around 11 a.m.

Properties along the travel route will receive notice of the move and asked to comply with “no parking” restrictions. For specific route information, contact the Building Services Division at 425-587-3600.
