The Finn Hill Neighborhood Alliance (FHNA) will host Kirkland Communications Program Manager Marie Stake at a public meeting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7 in the Finn Hill Junior High cafeteria.

It will be the first public meeting held since Denny Creek Neighborhood Alliance adopted a new name and mission statement in order to become the neighborhood association recognized by the City of Kirkland.

Stake will explain the ins and outs of the city website, which contains a wealth of information regarding the goings-on at City Hall, permitting, business rules, neighborhood issues, and too many other things to be able to list here.

Mike Cogle, city assistant Parks director, will also be on hand to explain an initiative to create a voter-approved park bond for the November ballot. Finn Hill residents may be directly affected if the city decides to take over maintenance of O.O. Denny Park.

A Finn Hill Park & Recreation District commissioner will explain what’s up with the Northshore Utility District sewer line project at O.O. Denny Park. And FHNA Board member Ellen Haas will discuss an April event that encourages people to get outside with the resulting videos and stories posted to social media outlets like YouTube and Facebook, then networked nationally.

Other reports may be presented by representatives of newly-formed committees developed following a retreat by FHNA Board members in January.

Finn Hill Junior High is located at 8040 N.E. 132nd St., two blocks east of Juanita Drive.
