Find volunteer opportunities by talking with 15 community organizations during Lake Washington Institute of Technology’s 5th Annual Volunteer Service Bash.

The event aims to raise awareness about the importance of volunteerism. Visit more than 15 tables set up by community organizations, such as Catholic Community Services, Goodwill, Green Kirkland Partnership, Hopelink, Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center, King County Library System, Auto Angels and Seattle Tilth.

Students and community members will also hear from Mary Dowell, director of CAS Lean EHS, Manufacturing & Quality, from the Boeing Company. Boeing places a large emphasis on the importance of volunteerism and has also been a partner of LWIT’s for over 30 years. Dowell will speak at 11:30 a.m.

The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12 at the LWIT East Building, East Mall, 11605 132nd Ave. N.E. in Kirkland.

The event includes free food, drinks and prizes.
