The Lake Washington High School Raging Robots Robotics Club participated in and finished first in the Washington State VEX Robot Championships on March 2 at Redmond High School. This first place finish gives the team an invitation to the world championships in Anaheim, Calif. this April.
Team members include Steven Anton, Gordon Walsh, Jacob Wall and Regan Colburn.
Teams needed to qualify through a series of tournaments throughout the school year to participate. Sixty teams from all around the Northwest, including teams from, Washington, Oregon, California and British Columbia, qualified for the Washington VRC Tournament.
Four dedicated team members worked hard all day to first make it through the preliminary rounds to qualify for the final rounds.
For the final rounds, an alliance selection process was followed and team members were chosen to join two other teams for the final eliminations. The three teams competed in the final rounds against some of the best VEX Robotics teams in the nation to win the tournament.
