Lady Kangs hot streak takes them to state basketball semi-finals

The LWHS girls basketball team will play on March 4 at 7:15 p.m. at the Tacoma Dome.

Yesterday afternoon the Lady Kangs defeated Hermiston in the WIAA 3A Girls State Basketball tournament quarter-finals by 73-40.

The Lady Kangs will play Mead in the semi-finals on March 4 at 7:15 p.m. in the Tacoma Dome. The winner of this upcoming game will go on to play in the March 5 championship game at 9:00 p.m.

During the March 3 game against Hermiston, forward, Ava Uusitalo scored 17 points; center, Elise Hani, scored 13 points; guard, Rae Butler Wu, scored 12 points; and guard, Rosa Smith, made 11 rebounds and 7 assists.

Out of the 12 players on the team, 2 did not score, and the team made 46% of 2-point field goals, and 36% of 3-point field goals.
