The following is a release from the Shelley Kloba campaign:

Kirkland City Councilmember Shelley Kloba has been endorsed by the Cascade Bicycle Club for her re-election to position 2. The club endorses candidates based on their public record, approachability, viability, and experience.

“We look for candidates who have been champions for creating better communities through bicycling,” said Eastside Policy and Government Affairs Coordinator McKayla Dunfey. “Her efforts show her to be that champion.

“On a personal level, she has helped out with our school-based Basics of Bicycling program. Additionally, at the policy level, she has shown a commitment to safety thru her involvement in the creation of the Cross Kirkland Corridor Interim Trail and her support of the Vision Zero concept of reducing traffic deaths and serious injuries.”

“I recognize that creating safer walking and biking environment is a way to build capacity on our roads while increasing the health and fitness of our residents,” Kloba said. “I believe in the work that Cascade is doing to educate people in how to ride safely and share the road, and I am proud to have their support.”
