The Kiwanis Kirkland Sunrisers Club delivered more than 3,000 books to all of the elementary schools in the Lake Washington School District Thursday morning.

The books were purchased by the club from Scholastica and Usborne Books.

Each child from grades kindergarten through third grade will receive a brand new age-appropriate book to take home.

Also, some of the teachers will receive books they have selected for their classroom libraries.

This is an annual service project  for the Kiwanis Kirkland Sunrisers Club, which meets at the Original Pancake House in Kirkland every Thursday morning at 7 a.m.
