With Christmas just around the corner, the Kiwanis Club of Kirkland is gearing up for their biggest fundraiser of the year. Since 1971, the club has sold Christmas trees, wreaths, gourmet nuts and Sees Candy, with all funds going to support children in the Kirkland community.

For the second year, the tree lot will be located in the parking lot at Juanita Beach Park. It opens Friday, Nov. 29 and will stay open until Dec. 23 or until the trees are gone. Tree lot hours will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The trees are freshly cut with the first shipment being delivered just before the lot opens and a second shipment in mid-December, ensuring that the trees are as fresh as possible when you purchase them. Last year they sold out early, so be sure not to wait too long.

All of the net proceeds go to programs designed to assist children in Kirkland. They include: KITH, March of Dimes, Music in the Park, student scholarships, special olympics, What’s Next Bowlers, Adopt-a-Highway, scouting, Kiwanis Camp Casey, Eastside Baby Corner, Kirkland Easter Egg Hunt, and the Kirkland Teen Union Building.
