The Kiwanis Club of Kirkland has relocated their Christmas tree lot across the street from last year’s site, and will be now situated in the parking lot at Juanita Beach Park, according to marketing chair Kat Cannon.

Last year they were located in a city parking lot on Juanita Drive, just west of Spuds Fish & Chips, but will be moving onto park grounds across the street.

Cannon would like the club’s loyal customers to know that the tree lot will open the day after Thanksgiving.

“It’s a great new location, with much better access and parking. As always, we’ll have the perfect tree for your family, as well as a wide assortment of See’s candies and gourmet Holiday nuts, and other Christmas accessories.”

Tree lot hours will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Cannon said, “This is a great way to celebrate the holiday season, and a wonderful opportunity to give back to your community.”

All proceeds go to programs designed to assist children in our local community, including KITH (temporary transitional housing), March of Dimes, Music in the Park, Support Our Troops, Student Scholarships, Special Olympics, What’s Next Bowlers, Adopt-a-Highway, Scouting, Kiwanis Camp Casey, Eastside Baby Corner, Kirkland Easter Egg Hunt, the Kirkland Teen Union, and the Eliminate Project, a joint effort between Kiwanis and UNESCO, whose goal is to eliminate the scourge of maternal neonatal tetanus that kills so many tiny newborns around the world.
