The 14th annual “Party in the Park” will be returning to Bridle Trails on June 25 with activities for all ages.

The event kicks off at 8:30 a.m. with $5 plates of bacon and pancakes. Entertainment will be provided by the Ellensburg Rodeo Royal Court, King County Posse and possibly the Seattle Knights.

Face painting, wandering musicians, stilt walkers, the High Valley Riders, a petting zoo, pony walks and hula hoop demonstrations will also be available.

Children will also have the opportunity to make crafts.

Day-of registration for the 10k, 5k and 1k walks begin at 7:30 a.m. for $40 for individuals and $60 for first time families. Pre-registration discounts are available and the 1k walk is free.

Jim Erckmann is an organizer with the event and said they plan on offering entertainment for all ages.

“It’s a great local event for families, particularly with small children or families that are into running,” he said.

Between 500 and 1,000 people are expected to come out for the event, he said.

All proceeds go towards the cost of the event and maintaining the park, Erckmann said.

Parking will be on-site, but quickly fills up so a shuttle will run from Central Park Tennis Club where additional parking will be located.
