Kirkland traffic delays: Cruise In Dance and Classic Car Show this weekend

Commuters should expect traffic delays due to Cruise In Dance to be held Saturday at Marina Park and the Kirkland Classic Car Show on Sunday in downtown Kirkland. Road closures will occur downtown throughout the weekend; event goers are encouraged to plan for their parking in advance. The City’s boat launch will remain open all weekend, however boaters should expect delays.

Commuters should expect traffic delays this weekend due to two big events in Kirkland.

The Cruise In Dance will be held Saturday at Marina Park and the Kirkland Classic Car Show on Sunday in downtown Kirkland. Road closures will occur throughout the weekend and event goers are encouraged to plan for their parking in advance. The City’s boat launch will remain open all weekend, however boaters should expect delays.

Cruise In Dance

The Marina Parking Lot will be closed overnight on Saturday from approximately noon until approximately 5 p.m. Sunday. Lakeshore Plaza Drive, from Central Way to Kirkland Avenue, and Kirkland Avenue, from the City Dock to Lake Street, will be closed on Saturday at approximately 12 to 10 p.m. and again on Sunday from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Kirkland Classic Car Show

The following roads will be closed and detours in place from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday:

• Park Lane from Lake Street to Main Street

• Kirkland Avenue from City Dock to Main Street

• Lake Street from Central Way to 2nd Avenue S

• Lake Street and Central Way Parking Lot

• Marina Parking Lot

• Lakeshore Plaza Drive from Central Way to Kirkland Avenue

Alternate Routes and Detours on Sunday

Heading North: From Lake Street S, head east on 2nd Avenue S, north on State Street S, continue north on 3rd Street, west on Central Way, north on Market Street

Heading South: From Central Way/NE 85th Street, head south on 6th Street, west on Kirkland Way, continue west on Kirkland Avenue, south on State Street S, west on 2nd Avenue S, south on Lake Street S.
