Between Wednesday, July 23, and Tuesday, July 29, the Kirkland Police Department reported 264 traffic violations, 21 assaults (12 domestic violence), 20 noise complaints, 17 thefts, 17 car accidents, 11 DUIs and 11 acts of vandalism. At least 56 people were arrested.

Saturday, July 26

3:53 p.m. A domestic dispute on the 11300 block of N.E. 88th St. ended after police arrested a 17-year-old Redmond girl for assault.

Sunday, July 27

12:01 a.m. A 22-year-old Seattle man was arrested for assault at a bar on the 9700 block of N.E. Juanita Drive. He allegedly punched a local resident in the face for no apparent reason.

1:02 p.m. An alert patrolman spotted a small brushfire quickly spreading behind a gas station on the 10800 block of N.E. 68th Street. He reportedly contained the fire with a portable extinguisher until local firefighters arrived. The fire appeared to have been started accidently.

Monday, July 28

11:18 a.m. A heavy set man in his 60s allegedly harassed a woman near the Kirkland Transit Center. The suspect reportedly offered her “sexual favors.”
