The Kirkland Police Department and the Washington State Patrol will be teaming up with other eastside police agencies and participating in these DUI Task Forces. The extra patrols will take place this weekend, Jan. 30 to Feb. 1. The State Patrol will be providing their Mobile Impaired Driving Unit (MIDU) on Saturday night to assist Troopers and Officers with the processing of drivers arrested for DUI. The King County Target Zero Task Force and the Washington Traffic Safety Commission support participating police agencies in these efforts.
All of these extra patrols are part of Target Zero—striving to end traffic deaths and serious injuries in Washington by 2030. For more information, visit www.targetzero.com.
