Kirkland Police Blotter Sept. 16-22

The weekly Kirkland Police blotter is represented on an interactive map below. Instead of listing the selection of calls separately, this feature allows the information relating to the call to be placed on the map itself.

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter Police Blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 800 per week.

Between Sept. 16-22, the Kirkland Police Department reported 410 traffic violations (one DUI), 14 traffic accidents, 16 noise complaints, 10 thefts, seven animal control calls, seven domestic violence calls, 18 alarm calls, three assaults, 10 motor vehicle prowls, 10 thefts, three cases of fraud, 10 malicious mischief calls and six cases of harassment. At least 36 people were arrested.

Sept. 22

Trespass: 10:03 p.m., 200 3rd Street. A 42-year-old homeless man was arrested for trespass at Peter Kirk Park.

Disorderly conduct: 12 p.m., 200 3rd Street. A 25-year-old New York man and a 20-year-old Kirkland man were arrested for fighting at Peter Kirk Park.

Malicious mischief: 7:52 a.m., 7500 block of 126th Ave. N.E. A Kirkland man was driving his truck north and observed a pedestrian walking about eight feet into the street. The pedestrian was carrying a stick about four feet long. The Kirkland man moved toward the curb to allow for an oncoming vehicle. The pedestrian hit the truck with the stick causing damage to the truck.

Sept. 21

Sex offense: 8:45 p.m., 11900 block of 124th Ave. N.E. A dance studio reported an Asain male wearing baggy clothes exposed himself through the window at a dance class. The subject was not located. Officers advised the studio to install better curtains to prevent anyone from peering through.

Sept. 20

Theft: 2 p.m., 10500 block of N.E. 122nd Street. A BMX bicycle, valued at $80 was stolen from in front of a residence.

Sept. 18

Warrant Arrest: 1:50 a.m. A 34-year-old Redmond man was contacted after he was reported being in a possible physical disturbance behind the Time Out Tavern. He was subsequently arrested on his outstanding Redmond warrant for failure to transfer title within 45 days.

Sept. 17

Warrant arrest: 3 p.m., 500 8th Street. A citizen observed a man and woman having a verbal argument. The two were contacted and the woman was arrested for her Kirkland Police Department warrant and man was arrested for a Bellevue warrant.

Sept. 16

Robbery: 11:20 a.m., 6600 block of 132nd Ave. N.E. Units responded to the Bridle Trails Wells Fargo for a bank robbery. The suspect was ultimately located at a nearby business and arrested. The suspect’s clothing and further evidentiary items were also located nearby.
