Kirkland Police Blotter Nov. 12-18

The weekly Kirkland Police blotter is represented on an interactive map below. Instead of listing the selection of calls separately, this feature allows the information relating to the call to be placed on the map itself.

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter Police Blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 800 per week.

Between Nov. 12-18, the Kirkland Police Department reported 257 traffic violations, 20 traffic accidents, 11 noise complaints, 18 thefts, one domestic violence, 29 alarms, four incidents of illegal substances, 18 motor vehicle prowls, seven burglaries, eight harassments, six cases of fraud, three malicious mischief cases and two assaults. At least 26 people were arrested.

Nov. 18

Assault: 11:23 p.m., 12000 block of N.E. 128th Street. A 47-year-old Kirkland woman was arrested in the Evergreen Hospital emergency room after she assaulted an on-duty nurse. The woman came into the ER claiming to try to detox. The woman became unruly with ER staff and refused to provide a drug sample. The woman was charged with assault and held in connection to warrants for DUI and driving with a suspended license.

Nov. 14

Theft: 11:58 a.m., 8629 120th Ave. N.E. A 15-year-old Kirkland boy was detained by Costco security for concealing a pair of jeans. His father was with him shopping and was very upset when he found out. The boy was charged with third degree theft.

Nov. 13

Domestic violence: 9:50 a.m., 12700 block of N.E. 107th Place. Two roommates got into a heated argument over leasing issues and police were called to the scene to mediate the dispute.

Theft: 3:45 p.m., 8600 120th Ave. N.E. A 29-year-old Redmond woman was arrested for shoplifting at Costco.

Assault: 1:47 a.m., 300 Kirkland Ave. Police witnessed a 22-year-old Bothell man break a beer bottle over a 28-year-old Everett man’s head in the Kirkland Municipal lot. The man was arrested for assault.

Theft: 3:25 p.m., 10601 N.E. 132nd Street. Two individuals had cell phones stolen from inside their backpacks, left unsecured in a locked locker room during gym class at Juanita High School. The thefts occured during third period on Nov. 10. Two suspects were arrested.

Nov. 12.

Theft: 2:46 p.m., 10601 N.E. 132nd Street. A student at Juanita High School left his cell phone unattended in the boy’s locker room for five minutes between fifth and sixth periods, which was long enough for it to be stolen. After calling his phone several times in an attempt to hear and locate it with no response. There were no witnesses at the time.

Assist: 9:42 p.m., 17400 block of N.E. 40th Place. A woman was arrested at her residence in Redmond for a hit-and-run that occurred on Nov. 6.

Nov. 11

Theft: 2:16 p.m., 10601 N.E. 132nd Street. Two students were caught in the locker room at Juanita High School rummaging through other student’s backpacks. Stolen items included an i-Pod and cash. Suspects found to be in possession of marijuana as well. The stolen property was recovered and returned.
