Kirkland police blotter: Man tries to escape officers through bathroom window

Between July 7 – July 13, there were 141 traffic incidents, 24 traffic accidents, three DUIs, 39 general traffic incidents, three incidents involving illegal drugs, 40 alarm calls, 18 abandoned vehicles, seven burglaries, eight incidents of fraud, 16 civil incidents, one case of harassment, 17 thefts, 20 vehicle prowls, five vehicle thefts, 18 warrants served, 25 noise complaints, five animal calls, six incidents of domestic violence, 16 fireworks complaints, 24 disturbances and five sex offenses.

June 6

Domestic: 1:19 p.m., 12100 block of 106th Ave. NE; A 28-year-old man was taken into custody for assault in the 4th degree, domestic violence, after getting into a physical altercation with his girlfriend on June 7. Injuries to the girlfriend were still visible.

July 7

DUI: 1:52 a.m., 11600 block of NB 405; A 29-year-old woman was arrested for DUI after being stopped in her black 2003 Mustang, traveling northbound on I-405. She provided two breath samples of .112 and .108.

July 8

DUI: 1:23 a.m., 12300 block of NE 116th St.; Police conducted a traffic stop on a 2011 Mazda 3 after observing multiple lane travel violations. The driver, a 26-year-old woman, exhibited obvious signs of intoxication and refused everything. The woman was arrested for DUI.

Death: 11:26 a.m., 14100 block of Juanita Drive NE; A 68-year-old Cokato, Montana man collapsed outside of the Juanita QFC. Medics and Kirkland Aid were unable to revive him. The King County Medical Examiner took possession of his body.

Death: 11:25 p.m., 11200 block of NE 109th Ln.; A woman, whose name and age were not disclosed, called police after she awoke to find her friend, a 59-year-old man who she had been dating off and on for 18 months, unresponsive and not breathing in his apartment bathroom. Kirkland Fire attempted to resuscitate the man, but were not able to do so.

July 9

Domestic: 7:16 a.m., 12600 block of NE 128th Way; A 50-year-old man was arrested for Assault in the 4th Degree, Domestic Violence, after pushing a 48-year-old female to the ground and kicking her in the right leg while on the ground. Both parties involved agreed on the story.

Death: 9:45 a.m., 9700 block of NE 134th Pl.; A 34-year-old man was found deceased in his bedroom by his 62-year-old father. Kirkland Fire Aid 27 arrived and started CPR, followed by Medic 47, but the man was pronounced dead at 10 a.m. and no other life-saving attempts were performed.

July 12

Warrant arrest: 1:34 p.m., 12100 block of 108th Ave. NE; Officers were serving numerous arrest warrants — four warrants totalling $153,500 — on a 31-year-old man at his residence. The man decided to go out the bathroom window and on to the roof. Once he jumped off of the roof, officers detained him in the front yard. The man was booked on new Kirkland charges of resisting arrest and obstruction of justice, and his older Kirkland warrants.

July 13

Warrant arrest: 5:57 p.m., 200 block of 3rd St.; A 49-year-old man was arrested on his multiple Tukwila theft warrants after being reported as an unruly and unwanted person on a Metro bus.
