Kirkland Police Blotter | Man assaulted with beer bottle, life threatened

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter Police Blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 800 per week.

Between Nov. 5-11, the Kirkland Police Department reported 402 traffic violations (five DUIs), 11 traffic accidents, 19 noise complaints, 13 thefts, two domestic violence calls, 25 alarm calls, six motor vehicle prowls, three burglaries, 15 disturbances, eight cases of fraud, nine harassment calls and three animal control calls. At least 43 people were arrested.

Nov. 11

Liquor violation: 1:29 a.m., 100 Central Way. Kirkland officer assisted a trooper with a DUI stop as three of four passengers were minors in consumption.

Minor liquor violation: 2:30 a.m., 11000 block of N.E. 125th Lane. An 18-year-old female arrived at her ex-boyfriend’s house to pick up her mail and got into a fight with a female who was visiting.

Nov. 10

Traffic offense: 6:41 p.m., 10600 block of N.E. 68th Street. Traffic stop on a vehicle with expired tabs and the driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license.

Trespass: 3:53 p.m., 202 Third Street. A juvenile was trespassed from Peter Kirk Park in September and was located in the park by police.

Nov. 9

Theft: 6 p.m., 8629 120th Ave. N.E. A 31-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for stealing two pairs of jeans from the Kirkland Costco.

Nov. 8

Assault: 9:02 p.m., 12200 block of 120th Ave. N.E. A 24-year-old Redmond man broke the car window of a 29-year-old Redmond man. The suspect then assaulted the victim with a beer bottle and threatened to kill him.

Nov. 7

Obstructing: 9:46 p.m., 11400 124th Ave. N.E. An anonymous person reported a man casing the AM/PM in Totem Lake. When police arrived they questioned the man about his activities. The man refused to cooperate and was taken into custody. A search found a felony no-bail warrant for the man out of Austin, Minn. and two Kirkland misdemeanor warrants.

Theft: 1:28 a.m., 11224 N.E. 124th Street. A 24-year-old man was arrested for theft and possession of marijuana after he stole a $12.99 chardonnay wine. The man also had a DUI warrant out of Redmond.

Domestic: 12:45 a.m., 13000 N.E. 112th Street. A man got into a verbal argument over his drinking, but was gone by the time police arrived.

Sex offense: 12:25 a.m., 10000 block of 116th Street. An anonymous caller reported a possible sexual assault at the location because they had heard that a black male at a party was a registered sex offender. The offender was reportedly in the residence with the homeowner’s three-year-old daughter. Upon contact the homeowner told police there was no black male at her home and her daughter was safe.

Nov. 6

Traffic offense: 2:25 p.m., 11500 block of N.E. 124th Street. A 50-year-old Kirkland man was stopped for driving with a suspended license and found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Nov. 5

Domestic: 7:15 p.m., 10800 block of 126th Ave. N.E. A woman called police because her daughter had attacked and assaulted her. When police arrived the father was talking with the daughter outside the residence. The daughter went to stay with friends for the night.
