Kirkland Police Blotter Dec. 22 to Jan. 5

Between Dec. 22 to Jan. 5, the Kirkland Police Department reported 682 traffic violations (six DUIs), 28 traffic accidents, 15 noise complaints, 23 thefts, 13 domestic violence, 44 alarms, 23 motor vehicle prowls, five car thefts, eight burglaries, 12 disturbances, 15 cases of fraud, 13 harassment sand five assault cases. At least 60 people were arrested.

Jan. 3

Liquor violation: 3:25 a.m., 4800 116th Ave. N.E. An 18-year-old and two juveniles were arrested for minor in possession and intoxication.

Jan. 1

Stolen property: 9:17 p.m., 12200 N.E. 116th St. A Kirkland officer ran the plates of a 1993 Honda Civic as it passed and entered the freeway and it showed stolen out of Tukwila. The officer turned around and attempted to chase down the car. Other units were dispatched to assist. As the two cars entered west bound 520 the officer stopped the car. The car was returned to the owner.

Assist: 3:15 p.m., 123 Fifth Ave. An unknown person filed a harassment complaint against a night shift officer.

Property found: 12:04 p.m., 9500 block of 130th Ave. N.E. A red “Magna” girls bike was found and placed into the north property room of the Kirkland Police Station.

Dec. 28

DUI: 2 a.m., 25 Lakeshore Plaza. A 57-year-old man was discovered slumped over and unconscious in the driver’s seat of his running 1993 Mazda 626 that was parked. After multiple rounds of knocking on the window to get the man’s attention, he showed other signs of intoxication. The man refused a field sobriety test and blood alcohol content came back as .141.

Dec. 25

Assault: 8 a.m., 11700 block of N.E. 41st Street. A 30-year-old Kirkland woman was arrested for assaulting her husband.

Dec. 24

Assault: 1:47 a.m., 15 Lake Street. A 29-year-old Bellevue man was arrested after he began a disturbance inside the Lake Street Grill and was asked to leave by security employees. As he was being escorted out, the man reportedly turned on a 36-year-old Bothell man and shoved him hard in the chest. He then cocked back his arm as if to punch the man. He was then taken to the ground and removed from the bar where other security employees flagged down the police. He was booked into jail for fourth degree assault.

Theft: 10:29 a.m., 8629 120th Ave. N.E. A 45-year-old Bellevue man was arrested after he was witnessed removing a flip phone and two DVDs from three packages and failing to pay for them after passing all points of sale.

Dec. 23

Assist: 9:49 p.m., 11700 124th Ave. N.E. A man was contacted at Taco Bell while ordering and found to have a misdemeanor warrant out of Kirkland for second degree trespassing. The man was arrested without incident.

Dec. 22

Illegal substance: 11:51 a.m., 12519 N.E. 85th St. A 19-year-old man got into a verbal argument with his mother at the Rose Hill Safeway. The man was mad because his mother would not give him $100 so he took her car keys. The man was contacted at Lover’s Package by officers. The man attempted to conceal approximately three grams of marijuana and then fled on foot. The man was then re-contacted in the parking lot of Safeway and actively resisted multiple officers and citizens attempting to help. The man was tased multiple times and eventually was taken into custody.

Theft: 5:31 p.m., 12221 120th Ave. N.E. A 20-year-old Bothell woman was detained by Fred Meyer loss prevention for stealing a hat and ear muffs valued at $30.
