After rubbing elbows with the likes of Alton Brown, Bobby Flay and Rachael Ray during a nine-week stint for the Food Network, stay-at-home Kirkland mom Melissa d’Arabian was named The Next Food Network Star during the reality show’s season five finale Sunday.

Melissa, who recently moved to Kirkland from Keller, Texas, beat out Jeffrey Saad of Los Angeles to win the ultimate prize in television: her own Food Network show, “Ten Dollar Dinners with Melissa d’Arabian,” set to premiere Sunday, Aug. 9.

During her new series, she will show viewers how to incorporate creative meals into their budgets. With countless tips to save time and money in the kitchen, she keeps her $10 promise in every episode: four people, ten bucks, infinite possibilities. From approachable Parisian and Moroccan menus to sophisticated upgrades for everyday chicken and pork, Melissa’s delicious budget-friendly meals demonstrate home cooking at its finest.

As a wife and a stay-at-home mother to her four preschool-aged daughters, Melissa pairs her varied culinary and life experiences to provide food lifestyle solutions to today’s families.
