The Kirkland Firefighters Union Local 2545 recently donated $1,000 to Hopelink.
“As firefighters, we often see the community in their time of need,” said Kirkland Fire Capt. Greg Picinich “We want to recognize how much Hopelink does for our community and with our donation, we hope to be a small part of the good that they do.”
Picinich presented the check to Hopelink personally last week.
Redmond Coding Association also focuses on e-waste collection and will host a ‘hackathon’ this summer.
Councilmember Reagan Dunn and more than a dozen business owners argued tips and health care expenses should be a part of the new wage. The council passed the ordinance without the amendment.
Nearly $600,000 in funding has been designated for the program, with applications accepted until Sept. 30.
