The Kirkland Fire Department rescued a 15-year-old boy Tuesday evening after he became distraught while swimming in Lake Washington near Juanita Beach Park.
KFD responded to a call around 6:34 p.m. that a boy was struggling in the water several hundred yards away from the dock. Five rescue swimmers and a swimmer with a paddle board were sent out. They were able to bring the boy back to the shore, where he was examined by a medical team and found to be unharmed.
The boy was then released to his mother.
