The Kirkland City Council recently recognized the Washington District 9, 2013 Junior Softball World Series host team, by issuing a proclamation in honor of the team’s performance.

Ten teams competed during this year’s event that was held Aug. 11-17 at Everest Park. Kirkland’s host team competed valiantly, said council members, and came in second overall in the series.

The council recognized the following team members and coaches from the Washington District 9 team: General Manager Nolan Radke, coaches John Warford and Steve Bivens and team members Tori Bivens, Carly Campana, Alex Hanger, Kayla Henry, Tatum Kawabata, Juliana Lynch, Lisa Nelson, Gianna Paribello, Brynn Radke, Natalie Vetto, Hannah Walker and Kristina Warford.
