Kirkland auto theft, burglary suspect arrested in northern California

A man who allegedly attempted to steal cars from Infiniti of Kirkland was arrested in California Wednesday.

A man who allegedly attempted to steal cars from Infiniti of Kirkland was arrested in California Wednesday.

Aikeem L. Roberts was apprehended by authorities in Marin County, Calif. and is a suspect in several current Kirkland Police Department cases, including five vehicle thefts from Infiniti of Kirkland and the attempted commercial burglary of the Kirby Vacuum store in the Totem Lake neighborhood on Jan. 7-8.

Roberts was contacted near one of the stolen Infiniti vehicles and immediately fled on foot from the Marin County officers. After a short foot pursuit he was captured and is currently in custody in California on separate criminal charges.

Kirkland Police Department detectives will discuss a possible return of Roberts back to Washington after his criminal charges in Marin County are adjudicated.
