A Kirkland police K-9 helped find a suspect who allegedly crashed a stolen vehicle into a fence and fled on foot Friday morning.

The male driver hit a fence in Kirkland’s Kingsgate neighborhood and fled to Bothell, said Kirkland Sgt. Daniel Willson, noting the incident was “business as usual.”

However, some helicopter activity in the area caused some residents to be concerned, including one man who told the Reporter via Twitter that there was a helicopter hovering over his neighborhood for a couple hours beginning at approximately 1:30 a.m.

Willson said the King County Sheriff Department Guardian One helicopter just happened to be in the area and the department helped Kirkland police search for the suspect.

A K-9 located the suspect in Bothell and he was arrested and booked into jail.
