Juanita HS DECA sends 16 students to DECA International Competition

Juanita High School DECA sent sixteen students to the DECA International Career Development Conference in Nashville, Tenn. April 22–27.

Juanita High School DECA sent sixteen students to the DECA International Career Development Conference in Nashville, Tenn. April 22–27.

These sixteen students prepared to compete against the best in the world in business and marketing events. Some students wrote 30 page business manuals and gave industry level presentations, other wrote 11 page promotion plans or prepared for a business scenario to present to judges.

The event hosted students from the United States, Canada, Spain, Mexico and China.

Students who competed are: Jim Popolow, Chase Peltz, Hanna Johansson, Rebecca Liu, Christine Shull, Teva Groulx, Tom Balback and Anna Ellefsen.

The following students made it as finalists in the world for their category.

  • Makayla Mourer – top 10 for role play
  • Kyler Jobe – top 10 for test score
  • Arthur Liu – top 16 for combined test score and presentation
  • Anuj Ankit – top 16 for combined test score and presentation
  • Dylan Stockard – top 16 for combined test score and presentation
  • Monisha Weerasundara – top 10 for test score, top 16 for combined test score and role play
  • James Leuthold – top 10 role play, top 16 for combined test score and role play
  • Shayan Nathan– top 10 role play, top 16 for combined test score and role play
