Juanita High School student awarded scholarship

Western National Insurance Group recently selected Jon Watson as a recipient of a college scholarship worth $3,000 for the upcoming fall term.

Watson, son of Tina and Jon Watson, will be a freshman this fall at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash. He is a 2013 graduate of Juanita High School in Kirkland.

In school, Watson was active in the Drama Club, school orchestra, Thespian Society, Chess Club, soccer team and the school newspaper.

Outside of school, he has been involved in peace activism training and peer mediation. His mother Tina is a Western National agency partner at Insurance Services Group in Woodinville.

The Western National Insurance Scholarship program presents merit-based awards annually to a select group of employees and independent agency partners’ sons and daughters who are beginning or continuing full-time undergraduate study in the fall of that year.
