Kirkland resident and Juanita High School grad Cody Nilsson has been awarded a Dean’s Scholarship for $2,000 for the 2013-14 academic year at Eastern Washington University. This scholarship goes to students who have demonstrated outstanding academic merit and achievements in high school.

Nilsson was a three year varsity football player at Juanita.

At Eastern, he is planning to pursue an exercise science degree.

He is the son of Mark and Pam Nilsson of Kirkland.
