Paul Falco homered twice and Connor Johnson threw a no-hitter as the Lake Washington High baseball team blasted Sammamish 16-0 in a KingCo 3A league contest on Friday, April 8, in Kirkland.
Johnson came close to a perfect game, picking up five strikeouts in five innings before the mercy rule kicked in, with only 52 pitches and one walk. The lone walk came on the first at-bat of the game.
Falco’s first home run came in the bottom of the second inning, starting an eight-run romp for the Kangs. His second came midway through the bottom of the third inning, scoring three runs and giving Lake Washington a 15-0 lead.
Falco finished with two hits and five RBI, while Johnson had two hits and three RBI.
Next, the Kangs are scheduled to take on Interlake High at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 11, in Kirkland.
