Joel Hussey earns Stand for Children endorsement

Stand for Children has endorsed Joel Hussey in his race for state representative in the 45th District.

The following is a release from the Joel Hussey campaign:

Stand for Children has endorsed Joel Hussey in his race for state representative in the 45th District.

“It is both our moral and legal obligation to ensure that our children have the education, skills and resources necessary to meet the challenges of today’s rapidly changing world,” Hussey said. “instead of working to improve school funding and enact needed educational reforms, my opponent has voted repeatedly to cut school funding and sided with the WEA to block needed reforms.”

Stand endorsed Joel because of his “commitment to helping all children attend excellent public schools, strong alignment with our education issues, and incredible leadership experience.”

Since 1999, Stand for Children has been committed to its mission of ensuring that all children, regardless of their background, graduate from high school with access to a college education. All children deserve an equal opportunity to succeed in life – education is the key that unlocks the door to success.

Hussey has made education the top priority for his campaign and, as the former Board President of Bellevue Christian Schools, has hands-on experience in improving the quality of education in Washington.

Husseygrew up in Everett where his parents still reside. He is a graduate of Seattle Pacific University where he received a degree in accounting and later received an MBA from the University of Washington. He has worked primarily in the aviation industry and now owns and operates Tailwind Capital, a specialized aircraft leasing and management company in Redmond.

Hussey served as the president of the Lake Washington Youth Soccer Association where he was a leader in the reorganization of the association that serves more than 6,000 local youth soccer players.

He and his wife Christi have been married for 29 years and have four children. They have lived in Redmond for the past 19 years.
