Get your gardening gloves ready for Juanita High School’s annual Rebel Pride Day on May 15. For this Saturday work-fest, the school is looking for volunteers from the local community to help beautify the school grounds.
Volunteers will be working along side students, parents, teachers and other school staff to tackle some much needed spring cleaning by weeding and pruning, spreading beauty bark and planting flowers.
“This is a day when we want parents, students, staff and community members to all get involved, roll up their sleeves and come show their Juanita pride,” parent organizer Sandy Ryan said. “The school grounds are definitely in need of some attention and I believe that with enough volunteers many hands can make light work. Together we can get the school looking its best.”
The event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a light lunch that will be provided to all volunteers! To add some fun, a variety of prizes will be raffled off throughout the day. Volunteer check in will begin at 8:30 a.m.
In order to ensure lunch for everyone, all volunteers are asked to register by contacting Juanita High School Student Leadership Director, Ashleigh Hasslinger, through email at ahasslinger@lwsd.org or by calling 425-936-1643. Please be advised that students who are not currently enrolled at Juanita High School must be accompanied by an adult. All participants will need a signed Hold Harmless form, found on the JHS website.
Juanita High School is located at 1060 132nd Ave. NE in Kirkland.
