Between April 12-18, the Kirkland Police Department reported 469 traffic violations (four DUIs), 25 school zone traffic violations, 30 alarm calls, 15 noise complaints, 15 calls of disturbance, 15 thefts, 10 car prowls, two car thefts, 23 traffic accidents, 18 calls of civil disturbance, 11 reported burglaries, one report of juvenile crime, seven domestic violence calls, five calls for harassment, four reports of illegal drugs, 13 acts of fraud, seven malicious mischief reports and three reported sex offenses. At least 32 people were arrested.

April 17

Domestic violence: 6:23 p.m., 7900 block of 125th Ln. N.E. A 34-year-old man was arrested after breaking into his estranged wife’s house and fleeing before police arrived. His wife said he is not on the lease, nor does he have keys to the residence. She was in the process of filing a dissolution of their marriage.

April 15

Domestic violence: 10:20 p.m., 500 block of 15th Ave. A 41-year-old man was arrested for allegedly throwing his 50-year-old wife on the bed, grabbing her by the throat and causing her “pain and fear.” The man was gone when police arrived but was found near the police department. He told officers he was going to turn himself in.

April 13

Domestic violence: 12:23 a.m., 12800 block of N.E. 113th St. A 31-year-old man was taken into custody after he and his 29-year-old wife got into an argument. His wife found a nude photo and a provocative text message on his cell phone, which was from their babysitter. The man allegedly got angry that she “snooped” and grabbed her hair and slammed her face on the carpet floor numerous times causing her pain.

Order violation: 11:10 p.m., 12800 block of N.E. 120th St. A 28-year-old man was arrested for violating a no contact order after he was found at a 24-year-old woman’s residence.

April 12

Malicious mischief: 11:58 a.m., 14100 block of Juanita Dr. N.E. A 43-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly keying a man’s vehicle outside of a QFC parking lot. The two were in an argument prior, and the man witnessed the act before she drove off in her own vehicle. He collected her license plate information and police contacted her at her residence.
