Eastside Earth Educators and PCC Natural Markets will present the film, “Good Food” – Sustainable Food and Farming in the Northwest at 2:30 p.m. April 17 at the Kirkland Teen Union Building, 348 Kirkland Ave., Kirkland.

As the film notes, “something remarkable is happening in the fields, ranches and orchards of the Pacific Northwest. Family farmers are making a comeback. They’re growing much healthier food, and lots more food per acre, while using less energy and water than factory farms. And most of this food is organic. ‘Good Food’ visits producers, farmers’ markets, distributors, stores, restaurants and public officials who are developing a more sustainable food system for all.”

The movie will begin at 2:30 p.m., with post-film discussion with filmmaker Melissa Young and PCC Natural Markets’ nutrition educator Leika Suzumura.  Learn how you, too, can be a part of this growing movement within the greater Eastside region. Representatives from local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farms and informational tables will be open from 2-4 p.m.

Admission is free to this event, with fresh fruits, vegetables and cheese being served. Fairly-traded coffee will be provided. Please bring your own cup to avoid waste.
