First annual “Be Kind to Everyone Day” to be held in Kirkland

Kirkland Mayor Joan McBride has declared the day of Aug. 28 as “Be Kind to Everyone Day” in Kirkland in honor of Sasia Regan-Hughes, a longtime Kirkland resident. Kirkland is the first city to declare a day that is dedicated to kindness - Kirkland’s Intentional Nice Day: K.I.N.D.

Kirkland Mayor Joan McBride has declared the day of Aug. 28 as “Be Kind to Everyone Day” in Kirkland in honor of Sasia Regan-Hughes, a longtime Kirkland resident. Kirkland is the first city to declare a day that is dedicated to kindness – Kirkland’s Intentional Nice Day: K.I.N.D.

A gathering to mark the occasion will be held on Sunday, Aug. 26 at Marina Park in downtown Kirkland, to spread the word, pass out “Kindness cards”, scatter kindness, paint some kindness rocks and enjoy the day. Sasia Regan-Hugheswas was a Lake Washington High School graduate, who showed thoughtful consideration of others, epitomized loving kindness and looked for the goodness in everyone according to the group’s Facebook page.
