Staff at the Kirkland-based EvergreenHealth Medical Center spent the last two days of their spirit week celebrating the Seahawks in fun and unique ways in honor of the Super Bowl on Feb. 2.

Thursday’s festivities involved face painting and airbrushing Seahawks logos and 12s for the 12th Man on faces, arms and foreheads. There was a football toss and a prize wheel with Skittles as the award.

But on Friday, or Blue Friday, cafeteria food was named after the team at a pre-game tailgate party. Food names included: “Beast Mode” Chicken Wings, “Showtime Tate” Kalbi Beef Ribs, “The Kearse” All American Chili Dog, “Wraparound Baldwin” Marinated Roasted Tofu Wrap, and the “Blitzing Bryant” Fresh Hot Pretzel and Homemade Cheese Sauce.

Fans also enjoyed a Seahawks themed photo booth in the hospital’s cafeteria.

At 12:30 p.m., staff congregated to the main entrance stairs and, for a few minutes, the escalators were turned off for a huge group photo of everyone wearing their Seahawks gear.

To top it off, EvergreenHealth’s upstairs hall near the main entrance was adorned with framed Seahawks photos taken by Dr. Lawrence M. Maurer, who freelances for the Seahawks and Sounders and works as a foot and ankle doctor at the hospital.
