The Eastside Concern for the Hungry annual food drive event will be held in Kirkland Sept. 27-28 at area grocery stores. Event coordinators are seeking more than 100 volunteers to help out.
Volunteers will be required to stand at participating grocery store entrances, encourage shoppers to purchase and donate select foods that will be distributed to Kirkland and Eastside neighbors in need. This is a volunteer opportunity for teens age 14 and older and for a parent and teen combination.
The event will have three two-hour shifts of 9:45 a.m. to noon, 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 1:45-4 p.m.
