Drivers should prepare for weekend roadwork on I-405 through Bellevue

Drivers enjoying a Saturday night in Bellevue should prepare for some delays on southbound Interstate 405.

Drivers enjoying an evening in Bellevue should prepare for some delays on southbound Interstate 405.

Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will do asphalt work and demolish a barrier on I-405 at Northeast Sixth Street. During that work:

  • The southbound I-405 HOV off-ramp to Northeast Sixth Street will be closed from9 p.m. Saturday, June 14 to 7 a.m. Sunday, June 15.
  • Up to two left lanes of southbound I-405 at Northeast Sixth Street will be closed from 10 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday.
  • Up to two left lanes of southbound I-405 at Northeast Sixth Street will be closed from 8 p.m. Sunday, June 15 to 5 a.m. Monday, June 16.

This work is part of the I-405 Southeast Eighth Street to Northup Way paving project. Crews are repaving and resurfacing more than two miles of southbound I-405 from SR 520 to Southeast Eighth Street as well as three ramps in order to extend the life of the roadway and provide a safer, smoother drive for motorists.
