Sleep Country USA is looking for pajamas-clad participants to take part in its third annual “Pajama Bowl” for foster children June 1 at the Tech City Bowl in Kirkland.

Sleep Country USA is looking for pajamas-clad participants to take part in its third annual “Pajama Bowl” for foster children June 1 at the Tech City Bowl in Kirkland.

Event organizers expect more than 400 people at two event locations in Tukwila and Kirkland.

The event raises money for the more than 18,000 foster children living in the state. Five bowlers from one winning team will each take home a new Simmons Beautyrest mattress set, also known as the “Bowling Ball” mattress.

The event starts at noon at the Tech City Bowl, located at 13033 NE 70th Place.

To register, each team of five is required to raise a minimum of $250 in sponsorship money to participate. Teams can donate their sponsorship dollars to any of a number of foster care organizations listed on the registration form.

Studio East putting on the Wizard of Oz

Kirkland performance arts training center Studio East is presenting the classic tale of Dorothy and her quest to find the Wizard from May 30 to June 22.

Shows are Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. at the studio’s mainstage theater at 402 Sixth St. South.

Municipal League seeking volunteers

The King County Municipal League is looking for volunteers to help evaluate political candidates running for a variety of public offices in Novembers elections.

Volunteers are asked to research work histories and references of candidates, interview candidates and recommend candidate ratings.
