The city of Kirkland will close 98th Avenue Northeast at the Forbes Creek Bridge starting Monday, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for up to seven nights. The closure is because the city’s contractor has to mount bearings on the bridge’s pilings that will enable it to withstand moderate earthquakes.
Cyclists and pedestrians can still cross Forbes Creek via the Juanita Bay Causeway.
Redmond Coding Association also focuses on e-waste collection and will host a ‘hackathon’ this summer.
Councilmember Reagan Dunn and more than a dozen business owners argued tips and health care expenses should be a part of the new wage. The council passed the ordinance without the amendment.
Nearly $600,000 in funding has been designated for the program, with applications accepted until Sept. 30.
