The city of Kirkland and 12 other Kirkland businesses are among King County’s 97 “Best Workplaces for Waste Prevention and Recycling for 2014.”
In its annual list released on July 3, King County commended organizations from an array of sectors including, education, engineering/manufacturing, financial, food/hospitality, government/utilities, medical, professional services, real estate/property management, retail, technology and transportation.
This is the eighth consecutive year King County has honored businesses for their efforts in waste reduction and recycling.
King County honored the following Kirkland organizations: Allyis, BladeGallery/Epicurean Edge, Chameleon Technologies, Inc., city of Kirkland, Eastside Community Thrift Shop, ECO Cartridge Store, EvergreenHealth, Landis+Gyr, Neil Levinson Enterprises, Simplicity ABC, Simplicity Décor, Twelve Baskets Catering, Voldal Wartelle & Co. and PS (VWC).
Kirkland business VWC was honored with the “Re-Innovator Award,” recognizing the company for achieving its waste reduction goals, in just one year, by becoming a completely paperless office.
